The Mimio Certified Trainer program is intended to recognize and support educators whose job responsibilities include providing in-depth training to teachers on the effective use of Mimio Interactive technology in the classroom. The program offers qualified educators access to Mimio-tested teaching materials and technical support. Successful participants will be qualified to teach Mimio-supported workshops to teachers. While the program uses Mimio hardware and software, its intent is to help educators build replicable, cross-platform skills and knowledge.

What are the eligibility/application requirements?

The Mimio Certified Trainer program is intended primarily for educators who are responsible for technology training in schools and districts. There are three qualifications for becoming a Mimio Certified Trainer:

  1.  You are an educator in a school or district, and are responsible for training faculty and staff in the use of technology products. You are a creative workshop trainer who understands the needs of local educators and can evangelize about educational technology.
  2. You model the behaviors of a successful technology change agent, including:
    • High expectations for helping teachers teach and students learn.
    • A commitment to the concept of lifelong learning.
    • A desire to collaborate to bring about change.
    • A record of demonstrating innovation in your work.
  3. You can demonstrate your proficiency in the use of Mimio Interactive hardware and software.

Why do I need to apply to the program?

In order to provide a hands-on learning environment, we typically limit each training cycle to a maximum of 12 people. We review applications and send out acceptance emails two months prior to each event.

When do I pay for the program?

You do not pay until you are accepted into the program. At that time, you will receive an acceptance email that includes instructions for payment. We accept the following forms of payment: check, credit card, and purchase order. When your payment is received, we will register you for the three-week Online Training course and send further information on the Train-the-Trainer event.

What are the expected program outcomes?

Mimio enjoys sharing its expertise with educational technology trainers. It is our expectation that successful participants in the Certified Trainer program will:

  • Enhance their knowledge of hardware and software and build their interactive technology skills, including the ability to answer common questions and to respond to typical situations and issues.
  • Be able to work with teachers who are using various configurations of Mimio Interactive hardware and software.
  • Know how to use interactive technologies effectively in the classroom.
  • Be able to lead teachers in sessions that teach them how to enhance their classes through the effective use of interactive technologies.
